So what is Broadband then?

Broadband is a word used to describe the new way of sending high speed internet data through the telephone line of cable network. This has only been possible because of the new Digital cabling that has slowly been put in to replace the older Analogue Cabling

Broadband internet requires either a Broadband Modem, or Broadband Router to connect your network to the internet.

A Broadband Modem is a device which can be connected to a single Computer System.

A Broadband Router connects the modem directly into your local network, and enables sharing of the internet connection to each Computer System on your network.

A lot of Modern Routers aimed at the home user have the Broadband Modem built in to make for a more compact arrangement, more and more of them also give a ‘Wireless’ option where the Router talks to the network via radio waves so no cables are needed to connect Computers together.

I can fit Routers and Modem Routers and also help with the setting up of a network that essentially follows on, from one PC to multiple PC’s in a Small Office environment.
